When the grandkids come to town, the first question is, “Where are we going to eat?” In case you don’t know, the magic of the beach does not end in the winter, and neither do great dining options. Our family is sharing our three top kid-friendly restaurants in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama.

Here are three of our favorite places to take your grandkids in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. Lulu’s in Gulf Shores,Moe’s Original BBQ in Orange Beach, and City Donuts in Orange Beach, are our top three restaurants with our grandkids.
Lulu’s Gulf Shores: A Fun & Kid-Friendly Destination Restaurant

Lulu’s is a destination restaurant. Our grandkids are busy kids, and we are always thinking ahead about the places we dine with them. Our three grandkids are under the age of 10. They are picky eaters and don’t always enjoy dining in restaurants, so we do “think” before we venture out.
Best lunch spots for Snowbirds in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach
Lulu’s is the ideal place to dine. The menu offers a nice selection of kid-friendly meals. If you have grandkids with food allergies, your server will have you speak with someone from the kitchen. This will help you and your family have the best possible dining experience.
Our only regret, we did not take advantage of the waterfront seating. I highly suggest you request waterfront seating along the Intracoastal Waterway. When you request a table with a view of the passing boats, it adds an extra element of fun and entertainment for the kids (and the grownups).
The kids Mac & Cheese was a favorite of our grandkids, along with the grilled cheese.

Each of our grandkids enjoyed their meal, and they also had leftovers to take back to our condo for an additional meal. Kids of all ages will enjoy Lulu’s Beach Arcade, featuring a variety of arcade games. A ropes course is also on-site for older kids and adults.

Moe’s Original BBQ has become one of our family favorites when we visit Orange Beach. The BBQ is delicious, and makes for a great meal on the balcony of our condo. You can dine indoors at the restaurant, but it’s so easy to order a family pack. On a recent visit without our grandkids and kids with us. We purchased a doublewide meal to go, and we had three meals with tasty leftovers to take back to our condo.
The triplewide fed our family of four adults and three young kids. This meal included meat (pulled pork, smoked sausage, smoked turkey, whole chicken, ribs, and smoked wings), a choice of 3 pints(mac & cheese, potato salad, baked beans, house-fried chips, marinated slaw, banana puddin’, Oreo chocolate puddin’, and special sides daily on chalkboard) on-the-side, 6 pieces of bread, sauce, and pickles.
Kids’ meals are available, which include pork, conecuh sausage, chicken, or turkey sandwich, ribs, chicken fingers, fried shrimp, wings, grilled cheese, and fried catfish. There’s a good chance that your grandkids are picky about certain things, and it’s much easier to grab a tasty meal to go. Moe’s BBQ in Orange Beach was the perfect solution for us. These three top kid-friendly restaurants in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach can kick off your visit with a delicious meal.

City Donuts in Orange Beach is the easiest, sweetest breakfast to be found when the grandkids are in town. We take them back to our condo and enjoy them with a view. It’s quick, easy, and everyone loves to indulge in a sweet donut to kick off the day.
From classic glazed donuts, colorful icing, and candy and cookie toppings- City Donuts has thought of it all. Arrive early so you don’t find yourself faced with an empty counter. Yes, these donuts are THAT good. Ask any local and they will tell you to arrive early!
There are numerous restaurants along the Alabama Coast that are kid-friendly, but these three continue to stand out for our family. Each time we visit, we comment, “It’s genuinely difficult to find a bad meal anywhere in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area.”
