Gulf State Park is more than a park. Several incredible classes are offered at the Learning Campus at Gulf State Park all year long. I had the opportunity to take a class on making sea salt bath bombs at Gulf State Park.
The class was educational, as we learned why salt is important and where it comes from. The best part of the experience was creating sea salt bath bombs and learning its restorative benefits. The class is about relaxation, and organic aromas and the soothing effects of an all-natural bath made it a hit. The aromas of this experience will make your wellness vacation in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach one of the best experiences ever.
Tip: Take your bath bomb back to your place of lodging and enjoy the relaxation in your bath tub.
Mold Clay
Who knew that molding clay could be so relaxing? The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach has always been a favorite of mine. I had never had the opportunity to visit the Clay Studio until recently. As a writer I’m always looking for a story and molding clay gave me an opportunity to be in the moment. I was able to focus on my hands and molding clay at the Clay Studio.
Myself and two friends were in the class and our instructor was patient. She also knew we were there for an experience, and she delivered.
We all connected with the clay and relaxed while we used our hands to mold the clay. Clay projects take time. Near three weeks, I will receive my finished piece in the mail. Tip: Wear closed toe shoes and pull your hair back if it’s shoulder length or longer.
Building Sandcastles on the Beach
Sandcastle University to the rescue when it comes to building sandcastles on the beach. My husband and I, along with friends, enjoyed a class with Catie of Sandcastle University and passed with flying colors.
We were both rewarded with Sand Castle University stickers of Class of 2025. Sandcastle University provides instruction, tools, and a fun time playing in the sand.
If you want to relax with your hands in the sand, sandcastle building is for you. You will complete a sandcastle for your enjoyment and everyone else’s, making it a memorable project.
Catie walked us through all of the steps and assisted with the tasks the six people in our group needed help with. A fun, relaxing way to enjoy the beach. BONUS- You sink your toes into the sand as you build your masterpiece.
