Make Memories At Shepherd Of The Hills Christmas (Branson)
The Shepherd of the Hills at Christmas is a magical family, friendly experience. Branson has become one of our favorite destinations across the Midwest. It’s 7 1/2 hours from home and offers something different from what we can experience at home in North Iowa.

The rolling hills of the Ozark Mountains and the attractions in Branson are always worth talking about.
*Thank you to Shepherd of the Hills for hosting my husband and I. As always, the opinions on here are mine and nobody else’s.

The Shepherd of the Hills is an entertainment center located in the heart of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri. Christmas time is extra magical, as it’s all decked out for the holidays. Red, green, and all colors of light are experienced throughout the complex. I now need a return visit to experience it during another time of year. With several events throughout the year, there’s always something new to experience.
Christmas In The Smoky Mountains

If you enjoy history, adventure, good food, family shows, and high adventure, the Shepherd of the Hills will win you over. Old Matt’s Cabin is a historic site on the grounds, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Copperhead Mountain Coaster
The Copperhead Mountain Coaster offers the longest downhill ride in Branson, at 3,350 feet. The uphill is 1,450 feet, making the Copperhead Mountain Coaster nearly a mile long.

We rode the coaster during the day, and I’m sure it’s incredible in the evening at Christmas, with all of the holiday lights throughout the complex.
Buckle up and enjoy an adventure you will enjoy talking about. Sara’s tip: Empty your pockets in your car, as you cannot have anything in your pockets on this coaster; this includes your cell phone.
A Shepherd’s Christmas Carol (Dinner Show)
A Shepherd’s Christmas Carol Dinner Show offers an opportunity to dine and enjoy a Christmas show to get you in the holiday spirit.

The meal consists of holiday trimmings, including ham and turkey. There are several shows to choose from, including the popular WhoDunnitHoedown – A Murder Mystery Dinner Show.
Visit The North Pole At Shepherd Of The Hills

The North Pole Adventure awaits, and it’s an opportunity to explore the grounds. The Christmas Lights Hayride, Meet & Greet with Santa, Mini Golf, Slide, and fun photo opps.

You can easily upgrade your ticket to a Santa Super Ticket, which includes the Copperhead Coaster, Sky Trek Course, and Inspiration Tower. Sara’s Tip: Plan to spend a minimum of three hours on the grounds, including before & after sunset.
Visit The Farm At Shepherd Of The Hills
A visit to the farm is not to be missed at the Shepherd of the Hills. You have the opportunity to get up close with the donkey, goats, sheep, and other animals along the route.

As the sun goes down, the trail lights up with holiday lights, as you view the animals. Make family memories while strolling the Shepherd of the Hills during Christmas, for a special experience.
Trail of Lights
The Trail of Lights features Branson Christmas Lights from November 1, 2025 to January 3, 2026. The Trail of Lights is the longest-running and #1 favorite Branson drive-thru Christmas lights attraction. We enjoyed the millions of colored lights.

Our drive took 28 minutes, as we wound our way through the 160-acre homestead. Tickets are priced by the carload, making this a fantastic, affordable family activity. Sara’s Tip: Purchase your tickets here, as they are not included in the North Pole Adventure.
There are many things to see and do in Branson. During the Christmas season, The Shepherd of the Hills offers a noticeably less crowded Christmas experience than its Branson counterparts. We found our visit more enjoyable because the park was less crowded than other attractions in the area. No matter where you spend your time in Branson to celebrate Christmas, you will have a magical experience.
