Nordic Fest is coming to Decorah, Iowa. As an Iowan with a rich Norwegian heritage, I heard the words Nordic Fest a lot while growing up.
Did you know that this year Decorah, IA will be celebrating it’s 50th annual Norwegian Festival, Nordic Fest?
Travel With Sara and The Walking Tourists are excited to share the fun at our June Midwest Travel Chat, on June 1st, using #MWTravel. Our featured destination will be Decorah, Iowa. Decorah is home to the Vesterheim: The National-Norwegian American Museum & Heritage Center.
Lisa, myself, and a few other travel writers experienced the surprises to be found in Decorah last September. We are excited to share them with you. From different types of farms – including a shrimp farm – and a winery to treats found at several local restaurants,
Decorah is a gem in north Iowa. If you have not made it to Mabe’s Pizza, I’d encourage you to add that to your itinerary while in town for Nordic Fest. You will quickly learn that farm to table is huge in this area of Iowa.
Are you a nature enthusiast? There are several hiking trails and beautiful water falls in the Decorah area.
There will be a few prizes to be won by participants in the chat. Keep checking back for updates on the prizes to be won.
