Three Destinations For Summer Travel
The summer travel season is upon us. Have you made your summer travel plans? It’s not too early to start planning. With so many amazing places to visit, it’s hard to decide where to go. If you have a tight budget, stay fairly close to home. Visit your local CVB and see what they have to offer. The folks at your local CVB’s are there for you, so use their knowledge. They can help you find events that meet the needs of your family. If you can afford to venture a little further, here are three summer travel destinations that I would suggest.
Estes Park, Colorado
Estes Park, Colorado, is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. The scenery here is stunning and the shopping on main street is some of the best around. Outdoor enthusiasts will find something around every corner. We have visited Estes Park numerous times and always find a new activity or hiking trail to explore. Last summer we took up fly fishing and I think it is fair to say that we are hooked!
Arrowhead Lake & Resort: Lake Kabetogama in Voyageurs National Park, Minnesota
Minnesota is home to 10,000 lakes and Lake Kabetogama is simply one of the finest lakes in the state. Located in Voyageurs National Park, fishing enthusiasts will be in paradise.
The blue skies, clear water, and wildlife viewing here is spectacular.
Located approximately five hours from Minneapolis and 10 hours from Chicago, outdoor enthusiasts will find a new sliver of paradise.
Cruising The Caribbean With Carnival Cruise Lines
It’s not secret, I simply love cruising with Carnival Cruise Lines. If you have always wanted to cruise, but just haven’t taken the plunge. Go for it and book a summer cruise. The Carnival Dream is now cruising out of New Orleans and offers a stop at my favorite all time port of call, Mahogany Bay in Honduras.
If you are looking for an extended family vacation, couples get-a-way, or family vacation, cruising is ideal. You can choose to do as much or as little as you like while cruising. How’s this for doing nothing?
And the other cool thing? If you have kids, especially growing boys, they can eat all of the ice cream and pizza they desire!
There are many places to explore, just make up your mind to do it! Trust me, you won’t regret it. Where would you like to vacation this summer? I’d love to hear where your summer travels will take you, as I’m always looking for new places to explore.
