It’s no secret that I love to cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines. On a recent cruise on the Carnival Victory, I literally fell in love with this cruise line all over again.
There was something special about the moment we set foot in the cruise terminal and I knew it would be a memorable cruise.
CRUISING IS ALL ABOUT THE FOOD
Every cruise we go on we try to be smarter about how we eat. When treats like this are available, it’s time to jump ship and indulge, right?
Quite honestly, my husband and I did pay attention to how we ate, how often we ate and what we ate. Sounds simple, right? In all honesty, it’s not that simple because when you cruise there is literally food everywhere. Guy’s Burger joint and Blue Iguana Cantina are located in the pool deck area, which both make for great hang out by the pool meal.
A plus with the Blue Iguana Cantina is that they make your flour tortillas right in front of you. I’m a sucker for a fresh, warm flour tortilla with chicken. Then add a few slices of watermelon and I am one happy cruiser. Your meals don’t end when the sun sets, as pizza is available 24/7.
The dining room is where you must eat to enjoy Carnival’s most famous warm chocolate melting cake. Tip: Order this Mickey Mouse style.
In my opinion, every cruiser needs to end a meal in the dining room with a slice of this delightful cake. In case you have never thought about how your meals are prepared while cruising, it’s important to remember that there is a person behind each meal that is served. Meet Rahul, he is the creator behind numerous meals that are served upon the Carnival Victory.
On a side note, Rahul will be moving on to another Carnival ship in the near future, but I can assure you that the quality of the food on board the Carnival Victory will still be great! The food we had at every meal was simply over the top. The Surf ‘n Turf that he prepared for me was out of this world!
DINING ROOM SERVERS ROCK
Carnival Cruise Lines is known as the fun ship. Did you know that the servers in the dining room are not only focused on offering you top-notch service in the dining room but also provide you with entertainment? Carlo was all of the above and more.
He and his team greeted my husband and I with a smile and were constantly making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meals in the dining room.
Tip: Get to know your servers in the dining room, as they are people with amazing life stories.
We always find it fascinating that our servers are so passionate about what they do and focus on making our experience the best ever. There is something to be learned about customer service from these servers, as we rarely receive this type of over the top service when we are home dining out in local restaurants.
CRUISING IS YOUR VACATION
Anytime you cruise, make sure to remember that cruising is all about making your vacation memories while cruising on a ship. The pool deck is always a happening place and if a quieter space is for you, head up to the Serenity Deck. Tip: Guests using the Serenity area must be 21 years of age or older.
The Carnival Victory offered a fun time in the piano bar and laughs galore in the comedy shows. The live music and shows that were provided nightly offered tunes to sing along with and dance the night away. If you aren’t into music and want an indoor quieter setting, head to the library. Here is where you can read a book, play a board game or sit in solitude and reflect on your cruise. We actually like to play Phase 10 and the library offers a wonderful setting for us. When all else fails, head to your room and indulge in your choice of activities.
Our cruise on the Carnival Victory was one of the best we have ever had and I attribute it to the outstanding service that we were provided around every corner on the cruise ship. From the servers to the cook and our room stewards, the hospitality was over the top.
What are you waiting for? Head over to Carnival.Com and book your best vacation ever on board the Carnival Victory.
*On a personal note. We paid for our cruise and a thank you to Carnival Cruise Lines for providing wi-fi service throughout the cruise and a wonderful steak meal.
